MR anatomy of the limbic system

Purpose: To determine functional anatomy of some portions in the limbic system on clinical MR images.
Methods: Images by fast spin-echo sequence and 3DFT-fast SPGR sequence were obtained using a 1.5-T MR unit.
Results: The hippocampal formation, the uncus, and the basal forebrain were successfully demonstrated.
Conclusions: MR imaging can contribute further understanding of small CNS structures.
